With the proper care, your granite or marble countertop will stay new-looking for years. Stone is one of the easiest surfaces to maintain. And granite, being 7 on the Mohs hardness scale of 1 to 10, is virtually unscratchable. (A knife blade is a 6 on the scale.)
A few drops of neutral washing liquid with warm water can clean the service and is often suficiant but it can leave the surface streaky. A natural stone cleaning kit can be used to achieve a polished effect on your granite worktop whilst avoiding any affects from harsh chemicals.
